Five Points Real Estate, Denver
Five Points real estate is a popular choice among Denver buyers. As one of Denver’s most important historic neighborhoods, the area is now a hub for fashionable dining and busy bars, as well as all types of living options thanks to its location at the northeast side of the downtown Denver core. Best of all it's a highly-walkable urban paradise.
One of the most popular areas within Five Points is the trendy RiNo, short for River North Art District, where you will find countless art galleries and restaurants to try out, with modern construction living mixed in with turn-of-the-century construction.Curtis Park is an enclave also within the Five Points boundaries, offering vintage turn-of-the-century homes mixed with modern houses, and shares the ease of visiting all the amenities found in RiNo.
The "points" in the district's name refer to the vertices formed where the four original streets meet. Five Points was also the shortened name for the street car stop located at this intersection.
Five Points is known for many things. It has been referred to as “The Harlem of the West” for its rich jazz history. Musical greats like Louis Armstrong and Ella Fitzgerald would play and stay at the now-vacant Rossonian Hotel. You can also find the Black American West Museum here, located inside the former home of Colorado’s first black female doctor, Dr. Justina Ford. Another fun fact: Jack Kerouac wrote about his travels through Five Points in his classic novel On the Road.
