Washington Park

Located in south central Denver, Washington Park (or "Wash Park" as the locals affectionately refer to it as) is bordered by Louisiana Avenue on the south, Downing Street on the West, Franklin Street on the East, and Virginia Avenue on the North. The park is long and rectangular and was originally designed by German landscaper Reinhard Schuetze at the turn of the 20th century. The area that Wash Park occupies served as on of the first suburbs of Denver, until the space was re-annexed by the city of Denver in the late 19th Century.
