In 2013, my husband and I purchased a home in Denver with the assistance of realtor Trevor Sholders. After learning more about what we were looking for, and touring many, many residences, we found the perfect home just as Denver’s real estate market was exploding. It didn’t surprise Trevor that we were one of several buyers interested in the home, given the low inventory, but it freaked us out. Trevor was calm and reassuring and said he’d do his best for us. He spoke with the seller's realtor about us, said we were a nice couple, we wanted the house for ourselves (not as a rental), we had great credit, etc., and thanks to Trevor, we were chosen to purchase the home!! Once our offer was accepted, Trevor worked his magic, negotiating the terms of the sale (price, exclusions, etc.) and even provided several recommendations for financing . He also assisted us in scheduling a qualified home inspector and a separate sewer pipe inspection. Trevor attended both inspections with us, at times commenting “that’s normal for a house of this age”, to which the inspector would agree (which gave us huge comfort). Trevor’s communication with us through the entire buying experience was perfect. He provided continuous updates on each “next step” in the process and responded to our questions right away -- we never had to call him a second time about a question we had. Even after we closed, Trevor was there for us when the former owner wanted us to pay for a "false alarm" charge from her security company -- she had neglected to turn off the security system and when we entered our new home after the closing, the alarm went off and she was billed $50. Trevor immediately jumped in, spoke to the seller's realtor about the situation, and settled the matter to everyone's satisfaction (and no, we didn't pay, lol). With Trevor’s help, we purchased a wonderful 3-bedroom home on a 4,700 square foot lot, less than 3 miles from downtown Denver, and we have a 3.2% interest rate mortgage. We couldn’t be happier! In Denver's hot real estate market, it would be foolish to try and buy or sell a home without a strong ally by your side.
